Does it work with Confluence Data Center or Server?

No. Cloud only. It’s built on Forge, Atlassian’s cloud app platform.

Do I need to be a Confluence admin?

To change settings, yes: only Confluence admins can. To make templates, you need to be a Confluence admin or in one of the groups an admin picked. To ask for a space, no: that’s the point of the request page.

What happens to a page I’ve restricted?

If Space Factory can’t read it, it can’t copy it, and the preview lists it before you start (the first 25 by name, then how many more). If you need it copied, add the app to the restriction.

Will my team get a flood of notifications?

No. Blanks are filled in before anyone is set to watch, so the building is finished before the first watcher exists.

Can I undo a creation from last month?

Yes, as long as the record is still within the retention window your admin set (180 days by default). Undo archives a space Space Factory made; it only deletes permanently if an admin has turned that on and nobody else has worked in the space. Pages it added to a space you already had go to that space’s trash instead.

What if two people ask for the same space key?

The second one is told the key is taken and shown which keys nearby are free. A template builds the key from the answers, so they can’t type a key in; to get a different one they change the answer it is built from — the client name, say — and preview again. A space is never created twice: every creation carries a key of its own, and pressing the button twice makes one space.

I’m adding a template’s pages to a space I already have, and it won’t let me.

Confluence won’t let one space hold two pages with the same title, and a template’s pages keep their titles when they’re copied. If the space already has a page called one of them, the preview says so and names the titles before you start. Rename those pages in the destination, or add the template’s pages to a different space. The creation doesn’t begin, so nothing is half-made.

How big a space can it copy?

Up to 5,000 pages in one go. A 2,000-page copy takes about 50 minutes and uses about a quarter of Atlassian’s hourly allowance for your site. Space Factory’s own share of that is set in Settings, 8,000 points an hour by default, so with the default a 2,000-page copy runs into a second hour. A space over 5,000 pages is refused: make a template of it and add it a section at a time.

What happens when the license lapses?

New spaces can’t be created and new requests can’t be sent. Undo, clean-up and history all keep working, so you’re never locked out of taking something back.

Does it use AI?

No. There are no AI calls, no analytics and no outside services of any kind.

What happens when I uninstall?

Atlassian deletes the app’s records. The spaces and pages it created stay. Undo anything you want removed before you uninstall — see Undo and clean-up.
