What is and isn’t copied

The honest list, including the things that stay behind.

Copied

Not copied

WhatWhy
Page history. A copied page starts with none of the original’s history. Confluence’s copy doesn’t carry history, and no app can add it.
Pages Space Factory can’t read. If a page is restricted so the app can’t see it, it can’t be copied. Every preview lists those pages before you start — the first 25 by name, then how many more — so you can remove the restriction for the app and try again.
Attachments over 4.5 MB on a blog post or on the home page. Attachments on the other pages are copied whatever their size. Confluence copies the pages under the home page, and their attachments, itself. Blog posts it doesn’t copy at all, and the home page’s text, files and labels it doesn’t carry over, so Space Factory copies those — and Forge, Atlassian’s app platform, caps how much an app can send in one request. Oversized files are listed in the result by name, with the blog post or page they were on, never dropped quietly.
Replies far down a very long thread. Replies are copied under the comment they answer, up to 100 in one thread and 10 replies deep. Each reply is a separate request, and a thread is copied in one go. Past that, the result says which page’s thread was cut short.
Pages you can’t see yourself. Nobody copies a page they aren’t allowed to read. If the app can see a page in the source that you can’t, the whole creation stops rather than hand it to you — Confluence copies a page tree all at once, so there is no way to leave one page out.

Comments and blog posts show the app as the author

Confluence doesn’t let an app write a comment as somebody else, so comments and blog posts Space Factory copies are created by the app, with “Originally by Marta Ruiz, 3 March 2026” written into the text. An inline comment that can’t be anchored to the same words on the copy becomes a footer comment quoting the text it was on, and its replies stay under it. A reply to an inline comment that Confluence won’t place under it is kept as a footer comment that says it was a reply.

Links

Links between copied pages are rewritten to point at the copies. A link to a page that wasn’t copied is left as it was and listed in the result, with the page it’s on and the page it points at. The result names the first 25 things that didn’t come across, then says how many more.
